Are you experiencing any of the following:
- A full feeling in the ear?
- Reduced hearing making sound appear dull and muffled?
- Mild Tinnitus (ringing or buzzing noises)?
These symptoms could be as a result of excessive ear wax!
Ear wax is common and naturally produced. It's sole purpose is to moisturise the ear canal and help keep debris from getting deep inside the ear, close to the ear drum.
When excessive wax occurs, blocking ears and impacting received sound quality, it is beneficial to seek wax removal assistance.
Micro-suction is a preferred method of wax removal by GP surgeries. This method involves an initial thorough examination of the ear canal using a binaural microscope with loupes glasses. Then using a sterile low-pressure suction device, wax will be removed gently and safely.
Most of the time, wax can be removed in an initial appointment. However, there are occasions when it is advised to soften wax with olive oil before treatment.
£70 fixed amount for one or both ears.
A free hearing screen will be offered after wax has been cleared to monitor hearing levels.
